Happy 100th Day of School!

On Monday, in honor of our 100th day of school, Meyer Prep students celebrated in various ways.  Lower school students collected 100 items of their choice, fantasized about what they would do if they had 100 dollars and wrote about what they thought life would be like in 100 years.

Middle school students worked together on a shopping activity that involved converting money. Students were given 100 shekels to spend and were shown how to convert money by applying their understanding of proportions. Students shopped on-line at various Judaic sites. After doing all the necessary conversions, students totaled their purchases to be sure they did not spend more than their 100 shekels. It was interesting to see the students determine how much they can buy with a 100 shekels. Students enjoyed shopping and learning an important real-world concept of converting money.
