GO EAGLES!
Meyer Prep parents, are you curious about what Meyer Prep students are learning in Jewish Studies? Would you like to explore Jewish topics and learn more? We would like to invite you to our monthly "Torah Tuesdays" with Rabbi Yisroel in the Beit Midrash from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. The first Torah Tuesday meeting will be on September 3 from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. This is a wonderful initiative for parents to deepen their understanding of Judaic studies. We would like to provide an opportunity for parents to engage with their religious heritage which not only enriches your own knowledge but also sets a positive example for your children. It fosters a sense of community and strengthens connections to tradition. Attendance is free. Please check your email for information on how to RSVP.
Meyer Prep Mathletes Go to States
Meyer Prep MATHCOUNTS competed at the state level along with 219 other students from schools all across Florida. MATHCOUNTS provides engaging math programs to US middle school students of all ability levels to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem solving. Our mathletes Asher B., Noah H., Noah K., and Daphne R. went to Jacksonville, Florida with their coach, Ms. Wolfe for 2 days to compete in various rounds including individual rounds and team rounds. These students have been part of the after school club throughout middle school and have made our school proud by making it to the state level in the competition. GO EAGLES! Our entire Meyer Prep family is beaming with pride at this astounding accomplishment. Kol ha-kavod!
Girls' Soccer Takes Trinity in 6-1 Win
Eagles girls' soccer team had an incredible opening game. Players have been practicing for two weeks and it showed yesterday on the field. The team did a great job passing the ball and defense was solid at keeping Trinity from gaining possession. The Eagles showed equal excellence with steals, taking possession from their opponents throughout the match. Daphne R. scored once and newcomer, Kaia P., scored twice. Ava S. and Chloe M. supported the 6-1 win with several assists. Special congratulations to Tova K. who got our first hat trick of the season scoring three goals. Goalie Shani B.'s quick reflexes and keen eyesight kept Trinity to a single goal. Julie C., Amelia S., and Chloe S. played exceptionally strong defense. Great job to all the girls for working hard. Their positive encouragement and good sportsmanship stood out in this win. Click here to see photos from our season.
Sixth Grade students who chose visual arts as their IB Arts concentration are currently beginning a unit relating to the environment and how art can contribute to the natural world. These wonderful artists are in the process of researching and discussing the environmental artist, Andy Goldsworthy, and his unique approach to art within the environment, and are creating their own site-specific sculptures based on his evocative works. Blowout Win for Eagles Boys' Basketball
The Meyer Prep Eagles boys' basketball team trounced Trinity in a 40-26 win on Wednesday night. The boys dominated from the tip off, with the team's outstanding defense pressing Trinity and and giving them no chance to score. The entire roster played with determination. Max helped the team get an early lead and was the leading scorer of the game. We look forward to continuing to practice and tp being ready for our next challenge!
