As we commemorated the 87th anniversary of Kristallnacht, our 7th grade students had the privilege of hearing from Dr. John Merey, a child survivor of the Holocaust. Born in Hungary, Dr. Merey shared his remarkable journey of survival, courage, and rebuilding a new life in the United States. His message of resilience, remembrance, and the importance of standing up to Holocaust denial deeply moved our students. We are grateful to Dr. Merey for his time and to the Kaminester family for introducing him to our school community.
