Today our 6th graders visited MorseLife, an Independent Senior Living community, where they practiced the Mitzvah of "V'hadarta P'nei Zaken" (Respect the Elderly). During their visit, the students decorated the Sukkah with handmade decorations, assisted the residents with a Bingo game, and eagerly engaged with the elders.
In addition, the 6th graders had the opportunity to see the beautiful Butterfly Tree Project, which added to the meaningful experience. This is an educational and memorial-making initiative by Morsrlife, that involves community members painting ceramic butterflies to honor 1,500,000 children who perished in the Holocaust.
We are incredibly proud of our 6th graders. They were wonderful representatives of Meyer Prep, and their joy in fulfilling this Mitzvah was evident.
